Applying the Aquatic Risk Management Scale (ARMS) to Staff Training

Risk Management is not sexy or action packed, in fact when having to present risk management concepts to staff, it tends to lead to a lot of eye rolling and yawning. We had to find a way to cover the very important topic, so we could grab the attention of staff and involve them in the task of understanding Risk Management. The Aquatic Risk Management Scale was developed at Crown Valley Community Pool as a tool to involve the staff in a productive discussion of Risk Management.

Management has to start thinking around corners in order to survive this recession.  In a time where money is even tighter, managers have to turn up the creativity to get business in the door and keep existing business.  We are going to go examine a few simple steps to help you think around corners to find creativity.

The year 2020 will look differently than today.  What can we do now to prepare ourselves for the future?  Predicting the future is difficult when it we are trying to anticipate what people want.  We can look at a combination of things and the, human climate from the past, present, and the no-so–distant future and use them to examine recreation in 2020.
