High and Dry (or Low and Wet) | Over Open Waters

Description:

This is a very dry and shortened version of our successful water safety training course for pilots.

Flying a coastal route or going offshore with an aircraft requires a little bit more in planning and preparation of the particular flight or portion thereof. Many pilots and their passengers are not fully aware of some challenges an ocean can bear. Ditching an aircraft is a rare occasion, but like all six numbers in Mega Millions, it can happen to you!

With simple steps and smart flight planning you can prepare your aircraft, your crew and passengers:

  • Smart flight planning
  • Emergency Equipment and its use
  • ELT, PLB, EPIRPS
  • Emergency Decision Making
  • Ditching Techniques
  • Psychological and medical factors for surviving

In a couple of group exercises (a.k.a. crash-teams) you'll learn using limited resources, time and techniques to successfully overcome stress situations without getting your feed wet.

This course is packed with information and touches the surface of in-depth subjects in many cases only. If you decide to join one of our all-day water safety classes for pilots you'll receive a discount in the amount of your fee of this workshop.

Complementary refreshments and snacks provided.
